Week 1
Ice Breaker
This year, I became the Public Forum (PF) captain of our debate team. For the past few years, our PF section has consistently been neglected because, unlike other debate events, we don't have an event coach to help us with tournaments. As a result, we are seen as one of the least competitively successful sections of our debate team, but this year, we had 6 teams state qual in our event. This made PF the event with the most amount of state-qualified entries on our debate team, and we are currently the second school with the most state-qualified entries in PF. I'm proud of being able to help guide our team, but more importantly, I'm proud that we were all able to work hard to get to where we're at.

4 Truths and 1 Lie
1. I have never seen the entirety of Cinderella, The Lion King, Dumbo, or Sleeping Beauty.
2. I used to be allergic to pineapple and kiwi.
3. I grew up with a pet dove.
4. I hate anything chocolate.
5. I was a vegetarian for 3 months because of a chicken documentary.
Wow, Laurice! What an accomplishment becoming the PF Captain. I assure you they made the perfect choice!!!! I wonder if I just don't know you at all because these all seem like lies to me. >_< The first, second, and fifth seem to be oddly specific, so I assume that they're all true. You're kind of like a dove. I think the lie is that you hate chocolate. :`)
ReplyDeleteThat is an incredible achievement, proud of you and the Public Forum division of the Debate Team! I feel as though the lie is the 4th one (the fact you hate anything chocolate) because it seems like the simplest one out of all of them. It could be bait though.
